Welcome to my blog

Welcome to Fresh on Folksy, a place for me to shout about all the wonderful and inspirational handmade goods from the creative makers selling on Folksy. There is no favouritism or any kick backs, it's simply things I find on Folksy that I like and would part money with. Some will be new goods and some will be older but all will have some element of creative genius.

Here's to all those makers, to all those who strive to create wondrous things from nothing, here's to all those who bring a little whimsy into our lives, they should be celebrated and commended.

I myself, peddle my wares on Folksy, you can find me lurking over at Ed's Place come over and say hello if you get a moment.

So as not to confuse anyone or mislead I would like to point out that I do not work for Folksy or have any affiliation with Folksy. I do what I do simply to promote the Folksy sellers and by definition Folksy itself. The views expressed on this blog are mine and mine alone.

Brass Band

It was a tough call to choose between the different sets of Russian dolls in Allistair's shop. This one just edged it  as I like the banjo playing goat and the rather stuffy looking conductor. I know it's a fair wedge of cash to call these your own but I like them enough to feature them here in hope that some generous soul will see what I see in them, heirlooms.

Retro teapot and cup drawing with fabric

Another rather splendid original piece of artwork, signed and dated for £7.50! Sometimes I get to thinking that these pieces of original work are being gifted to you lot out there, you lucky souls. I really like the combination here and as you regular readers will know, I am a bit of a geometric pattern freak.

My Castle

Much as I am more of a rural monkey, liking and enjoying the space that lifestyle affords I do have a soft spot for the brutally urban landscape. Shoot me down in flames but I do like some of the 60's high rise structures. I like this simple line sketch of a one such building, a lot. I shows a real confidence from the artist in their own ability, top work.

Owl Lino Print Card

Simplicity always works in my opinion and I do love this card. There's an element of ninja owl but I like that too. As the print is signed too it would make a nice small framed print. £2.50 for a signed original print, come on peeps, that's got to be worth a punt, surely.

Crochet Grey Lampshade

Sticking with the crochet theme, this lampshade really does work for me. I can see it in various different colour ways and patterns. I like the idea of it being updateable when you feel like it, I'm hoping to see more colour choice in the Girlybunches shop, is that a little demanding?

Easter Egg Cosies

Speaking of the Easter table, I do love the colours of these very sweet crochet egg cosies. Bring a touch of chic to your table this Easter and treat yourself, they're only £7.50 for six!

Autumn felt acorns decorations

Yeah yeah, I know we're heading into spring and these acorns may be a little off message but I liked them enough to not ignore them. Personally, I think they would make a nice addition to the Easter table.

Monty the Fox Lambswool Plush

This handsome devil of a fox is made to order but you have to agree it would be well worth the wait. He would be a household favourite in our house for sure. Foxes not your thing? Head over to Sara's shop, there's plenty to choose from. I particularly like Kevin the extra long caterpillar.
